Entry level interactive designer

Mason, Inc., Connecticut's leading resource for brand development and integrated communications is seeking an entry level web designer with 1-3 years experience to join its growing digital and new media practice area. A BFA or related degree is a plus. The position will require working on-site at our Bethany, CT office.

The main responsibilities in this position are to assist in: maintenance of existing websites, implementation of website rollouts by template-based page generation using html and css, generation of graphics from pre-existing templates and comps, searching for and cataloging stock imagery, monitoring and compiling of analytics/adwords reports as needed on a client-by-client basis, testing of websites and applications prior to launch, and working closely with other team members across Mason's integrated communications culture.

Specific Skills

• Experience using standard website tools such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator and MS Office Suite
• Proven experience using standards-compliant html and css
• Knowledge of and ability to use website tracking tools such as Google Analytics
• Good understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and its application
• Knowledge of current web standards, practices and technologies and how they apply to real world projects
• Knowledge of social media channels and best practices
• Personable and passionate about learning new technologies
• Knowledge and experience in print design using InDesign is a plus
• Knowledge of CMS systems and any coding in PHP, .NET, Javascript is a plus

Experience

• 1-3 years related work experience
• A BFA or related degree is a plus.
